Tirimurti Steels (P) Ltd.

Tirimurti Steels is over at E-278-A in the Basni Industrial Area, Phase II. This part of the M.I.A. is pretty rugged, with lots of trucks coming in and out of the different units. Our yard is usually full of steel bars and sheets. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and the sun can be really unforgiving out here in Jodhpur. We have a small office attached to the side of the main shed, but we spend most of our time out where the metal is. Dust is a constant thing here; you just get used to it being on your clothes and in your hair. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. If you call, you’ll probably hear the cranes or the cutting saws in the background. We just supply steel to local builders and small manufacturers who need reliable materials. It’s a basic business. We check the stock, load the trucks, and handle the bills. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial area, and we just have to sit and wait or do whatever work we can by hand until it comes back on. It isn't a glamorous life, but there's a certain satisfaction in seeing a truck drive away fully loaded. We’ve been operating out of this same spot for years now and don't plan on moving anytime soon. It’s just what we do.
