Shree Steels

We have been running Shree Steels out of Plot 95 and 96 for a while now. You can find us right on Salawas Road, over by the Tanawara Fanta in Jodhpur. The sun really beats down on the roof here, especially in the afternoons, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early in the day. The yard is usually full of different steel sections and pipes. It isn't the cleanest place, as there is always a bit of rust dust or grease around, but that is just the nature of the work. My brother and I usually handle the orders ourselves. We don't have any fancy office or a big staff. There’s just a small room with a desk and a fan that clicks the whole time it’s on. People who need stuff usually just pull their trucks in off Salawas Road. We spend a lot of time just talking to the drivers or checking the stock. The Ganpati Vihar area has changed a bit over the years, but our plots stay pretty much the same. We don’t bother with marketing or anything like that. People just know the sign near the fanta, even though the paint is peeling. It’s loud and it’s hot, but we like the routine of it. We just keep things moving and make sure the loads are tied down right before they leave. It’s just how we do things here in Jodhpur.
