Taj Hari Mahal

This location is at House Number 17 in Ratanada, Jodhpur. It’s right near the Sati Mata Mandir. The place is actually under the care of Z.K. Sherani. It’s not the big palace hotel itself, but a dedicated office space for Taj Hari Mahal matters. Ratanada is a nice old part of the city. We have a lot of history in this neighborhood. The office is tucked away in a residential street, so it feels very different from the luxury of the main hotel grounds. We spend our time here dealing with logistics and local errands. It’s a lot of ledger books and phone calls to suppliers. The house is old but sturdy. We have a small courtyard where we sometimes sit during lunch. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the records we keep, but we know our way around the stacks. Being near the temple means we hear the bells in the morning, which is a nice way to start the workday. We don’t do marketing here or talk to guests much; it’s all the back-room stuff that nobody sees. Just a handful of us working in these rooms to make sure everything at the hotel is sorted out. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of place. We’ve been here at this Ratanada address for years, and it just feels like home to the staff now.
