Holiday Planner

My brother and I started this some years ago at the Abhay Chamber basement. It’s a busy spot near Jalori Gate, usually crowded but we like it here. We spend most of our mornings looking at bus schedules and train timings for people coming in. The office isn't big, just some desks and a couple of old chairs. People drop by after shopping nearby to ask about tickets. Sometimes we have tea while figuring out a route for someone heading out of town. It gets dusty being in the basement, but it keeps the sun out during the hot months. We mostly handle local stuff, but we try to help with whatever comes through the door. It’s not fancy work. We just sit here and make sure things are booked right so nobody gets stuck at the station. Most of our regulars are from the neighborhood. They know where to find us. We don't really do much advertising, just talk to the folks who walk down the stairs. It stays quiet down here when the traffic outside gets loud. If the phones are working, we answer them, but usually, it's face-to-face. We've been at 13-Basement for a long time now. It’s just how we earn our living, keeping track of where people want to go and finding a way to get them there without too much trouble. We don't use fancy computers, just one old machine and some notebooks. My nephew comes in to help when things get too busy for me. We just want to keep the lights on and keep people moving.
