S.R Engineering Works

If you find the Chuna Bhatta on Main Salawas Road, you’re pretty much at our door. S.R Engineering Works is right across from it, at H -1/413. It’s a noisy stretch of road with plenty of traffic, so there’s always something to look at. We’ve got a small crew here. Most of us have been working with iron and steel since we were young. The shop isn’t much to look at from the outside, but inside we have the lathes and the welding sets going most of the day. It gets hot, especially in the afternoons, but we have some cold water in the back. We take on repair jobs and some custom manufacturing too. People from around the neighborhood know us by name, which is nice. We don’t really do much advertising because the work usually speaks for itself when someone sees a finished piece. The gate stays open during the day so the breeze can come through, though it mostly just brings in the road noise. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix those ourselves before we can get back to the customer’s stuff. It’s just the daily routine. We don't have a marketing department or anything. It's just us and the tools we use. We make sure the measurements are what they should be. That’s the main thing. Then we go home and do it all again the next day.
