If you head down Jhawar Road, you will find us at Plot No 63 in the Birla Matushree area. Shrie Swaastik Gum & Chemicals has its setup here. It’s an area that has grown a lot lately, with more buildings and warehouses going up every single year. Our plot is right in the middle of it all. The road out front can be quite bumpy, especially after it rains, but we manage to get the trucks in and out. We handle a lot of gum and chemical products, so the warehouse is always busy with workers. There’s a specific smell to the place that you get used to after working here for a few days. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles in the office. It is just a desk, a few chairs, and a computer that’s a bit slow to start up. We spend most of our time out on the floor anyway. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around and checking labels on the containers. Sometimes the heat under the metal roof gets to be too much, so we take short breaks in the shade of the main wall. The staff has been here for years, and we all know how the machines sound when they’re running right. It’s a steady kind of life. Shrie Swaastik Gum & Chemicals isn’t a huge corporation; it’s just a local business trying to do things right. We keep the gates open during the day and close them tight when we leave.
