If you find yourself in Rajmahal Saraswati Nagar, you’ll likely see our sign. Hopo Homes and Construction is basically just a few of us who like building things. We started out small and stayed that way for the most part. Our days usually start early before the sun gets too hot. There is always some noise around our place, whether it’s the sound of a saw or people talking about where the next load of bricks should go. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and trying to figure out how to make things fit right. It isn't always easy, and sometimes we have to redo things when they don't look quite right the first time. The office stays pretty messy with all the samples and scrap bits of wood lying around. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. Most of our work happens right here in the local area, so we don't have to travel too far most days. Living and working in the same neighborhood means we see our neighbors all the time. It keeps us honest because we can't hide if something goes wrong. We just try to do a decent job and go home to our families when the sun goes down. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the year.
