Sankalp

Our place, Sankalp, is located right near Nai Sarak and Nai Sadak. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes can get. It is a historic area, and we are right there among the old buildings and the endless stream of people. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space we have. We keep things stacked up high on the shelves, and sometimes you need a ladder just to find what you are looking for. It is a bit chaotic, but there is a system to it that we all understand. We don't have fancy furniture or a modern cooling system; we just have some ceiling fans and a lot of work to do. The noise from the street is constant, with rickshaws and people shouting, but after a while, you just stop noticing it. We handle a variety of items, and the inventory changes quite a bit depending on what’s available. We've been in this spot for years, and we know the other shopkeepers along Nai Sarak quite well. It’s the kind of place where you have to be practical because there isn't room for anything else. We don't do much advertising; people just walk in or call us because they know we are here. It’s a traditional way of doing business, and it suits us just fine.
