Saikripa Beauty Parlour

Down at Plot No. 122-A on Subhash Chouk, you’ll find Saikripa Beauty Parlour. We are on Krishna Mandir Road, so we get to hear the prayers from the temple every day. Jodhpur is a beautiful city, but the dust gets everywhere, so I spend a lot of time dusting the shelves in the morning. Ratanada is a good neighborhood, people are friendly here. The shop isn't very large, but we made sure the lighting is bright so we can see what we are doing. My sister helps out when she can, and we mostly handle basic stuff like facials and hair cutting. It’s nothing too complicated. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy marketing. People come in, they sit down, and we talk while I work. Sometimes someone brings us tea from the stall nearby. That’s always a nice break. The road outside can get pretty loud with the motorcycles zooming by toward Subhash Chouk, but inside it’s okay. We’ve had the same mirrors since we opened, and they’ve seen a lot of faces over the years. We just keep things moving, one person at a time. It’s a simple life running a parlour in Jodhpur. If you’re walking down Krishna Mandir Road, you can’t miss the blue door. We’re usually there until late evening when the last customer leaves. It is just a practical place for the people living around Ratanada.
