Raja Watch & Hair Salon

This is a bit of a different kind of shop because we do two things at once here. We are located on Ghasmandi Road inside Jalori Gate in Jodhpur. On one side of the shop, I work on watches that have stopped ticking or need a new glass. On the other side, we have the chairs for cutting hair. It might seem strange to some, but it works for us. The space is a bit crowded with all the small tools for the watches and the barber equipment, but we manage. Jalori Gate is a very old and busy area, so there is always something happening outside the door. We have been doing this for a long time and the locals are used to seeing the watches and the hair cutting happening in the same room. Sometimes a customer will come in for a haircut and remember they have a broken watch at home. It is a practical way to run things. The shop is old and the walls show it, but it has a lot of character. We don't have any big signs, just the work we do every day. It is usually just me and my son here. We like the variety of the work and talking to the people who stop by for one thing or the other. It is a simple, busy life in Jodhpur.
