Piyush Hair & Beauty Art

Our shop, Piyush Hair & Beauty Art, is situated at D-99 in Kamla Nehru Nagar. If you know Jodhpur well, you know this part of Kamla Nehru Ngr gets a lot of foot traffic. We have been here at this 342008 address for a good amount of time now. It is a modest space where we do hair cutting and some basic beauty stuff. I usually get in early to open the shutters and sweep the floor before the first customer shows up. Some days are slow, especially when it is really sunny outside, but the evenings usually pick up. We have regulars who come in every month for their usual cut. They sit in the chair and we talk about the news or what is happening in the neighborhood. I like the vibe of this area because everyone knows each other. It is not like those big malls where nobody talks. Here, we actually remember names. The chairs are comfortable enough, even if they are not brand new. We keep our scissors sharp and our mirrors clean. It is just how we do things. Sometimes my nephew helps out on weekends when it gets crowded. We do not do any big advertisements or anything. People just see the sign outside and walk in. It is a simple living for us here in Jodhpur. We just focus on doing the job right so the person leaves looking a bit better than when they walked in. The tea shop next door usually brings us a couple of glasses in the afternoon which is nice.
