Pashupati Travels

We have our office for Pashupati Travels set up at Jhalamand House on Air Force Road. It's in the Ratanada area, right near Panchbatti Circle. It is a busy corner of Jodhpur, and there is always a lot of noise from the bikes and autos passing by. I’ve been working here for quite a while now. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some old wooden desks and a couple of chairs for people to sit while we talk about their travel plans. Most days start with me opening up the shutters around nine in the morning and getting the dust off the furniture. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking on where the drivers are and if the cars are ready. Being so close to the Air Force area, we see a lot of military folks and their families. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon gets so bad that we just sit under the fan and wait for the sun to go down a bit. My nephew helps me out with the registers and the bookings. We don't use any fancy computers, just a big notebook where we write everything down. It works for us. People know where to find us if they need a ride to the station or just want to go out to the villages for a day. It’s a simple life, just trying to make sure the vehicles are running okay and everyone gets to their destination without a fuss. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the traffic settles.
