New Surya Tours & Travels is located right in Suraj Market, which sits just by the over bridge at Sojati Gate. If you know Jodhpur, you know that Sojati Gate is a real hub of activity. There is always something going on, whether it's people shopping or the heavy traffic moving over the bridge. Our shop is a bit small, tucked away in the market, but we’ve made it work for years. You can hear the rumble of the trucks and cars overhead all day long. We mostly focus on helping people find a way to travel around the state. I usually get here early to beat the main crowd and have a cup of chai before the phones start ringing. It's a family business, so you'll often see my brother or my cousin sitting here too. We don't have any polished marketing or a big sign, just our name on the front and some old photos of the city on the walls. Most of our work comes from people walking by or folks who have used us before and liked that we don't play games with the prices. Sometimes the rains make the market a bit messy, but we just put out some mats and keep going. We don't really have a big staff, just us and a handful of drivers we trust. We just try to be honest about the timings, even when the traffic is a mess. It's a lot of work but we like being in the center of things.
