New Jaipur Hair Saloon

In the Pratap Nagar area of Jodhpur, there is New Jaipur Hair Saloon, right behind the Filter House. If you live around here, you probably know the Filter House landmark well. Our shop is a small place where we've been working for years. Jodhpur can be quite dusty and hot, so the shop is a bit of a relief for people coming in from the sun. We have a few old chairs and a big tub of water for when we need it. The walls are painted a simple color and we have some photos of different styles pinned up, though most people just ask for the same thing every time. It’s a quiet neighborhood mostly, except for when the kids are coming home from school in the afternoon. We see a lot of the older men from Pratap Nagar who come in to sit and chat even if they don't need a haircut that day. It's just a local spot where everyone feels comfortable sitting for a while. We don't have any big fancy equipment, just our scissors and combs that we keep clean. The shop is small enough that you can't have too many people inside at once, so sometimes people wait on the bench outside. We like it this way. It’s a simple business and we know our neighbors. We open early and close when the street gets quiet at night. It’s just how we do things here.
