Our place, Marwar Eco Cultural Tours & Travel, is located in Makaranamohalla, which is right on the Old Fort Road in Jodhpur. We are very close to the Clock Tower, which is one of the busiest and oldest parts of the whole city. If you’ve ever walked through these lanes, you know how much history is packed into every corner. Our office is in an old building that has been around for a long time. It’s a bit cramped, but it’s right where all the action is. We started this because we wanted to share the real Jodhpur with people, not just the stuff you see in brochures. We don't have any fancy brochures anyway. Most of our day is spent talking to visitors who wander in from the market or the fort. The streets are so narrow that you can’t even get a big car through some of them, so we do a lot of planning on how to get people around. It isn't only about driving cars around; it’s more about knowing which tiny alley leads where when the main road is blocked. It gets loud, it’s dusty, and there’s always someone selling something right outside the door. My brother and I run the place together. We don't use much technology, just our mobile phones and a lot of local knowledge. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and talk. We aren't a big agency, just some local people who know the culture and the roads better than anyone else in this mohalla. We stay open late most nights.
