Mamta Hair & Beauty Parler

Mamta Hair & Beauty Parler is located over in Laxman Nagar. We are right on Banar Road, which stays quite busy throughout the day. This place is mostly for the women around here who need their hair done or maybe some threading. It’s not a very large space, but we have everything we need tucked into the corners. There is a small curtain for privacy and a few mirrors that we’ve had since the beginning. You can see the dust dancing in the sunlight coming through the front window. Most of our customers are locals from the Banar area. They come in and talk about their families while we work. It’s a noisy place when the hair dryers are running. We have a few bottles of creams and lotions on the shelves, nothing too expensive. The chairs are a bit worn out from people sitting in them every day. Jodhpur weather is tough, so we try to keep the place feeling okay with a small cooler. We spend most of our time standing on our feet. Sometimes we share a cup of tea between customers. It’s just a regular neighborhood parlor. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just Mamta Hair & Beauty Parler, a small spot where people come to get fixed up before a wedding or just for the week. It feels like home to most of the ladies around here.
