You can find us at No.E-3/10 in the New Anaj Mandi at Bhagat Ki Khothi. Being in the grain market means our days start very early, usually before the sun is even up properly. Laxmi Agencies is a busy spot where we deal with all sorts of grains and seeds coming in from the farms. The whole area is full of the sounds of tractors and people shouting over the noise of the market. Our shop is just a simple space with high ceilings and plenty of room for stacking heavy gunny bags. We spend a lot of time standing around the front, talking to the farmers and checking the quality of what they brought in. It is a lot of paperwork too, mostly just scribbling in ledgers and keeping track of who owes what. We drink way too much tea during the day because there is always someone new dropping by to talk prices. The floor is usually covered in a bit of loose grain and dust, but that is just how a mandi is. We have been in this spot for a while now and we know all the other traders on the row. It is a hectic life but there is a good community here. We just try to keep things moving and get home before the evening traffic gets too bad. It is hard work but we are used to it.
