Kashiram & Company

Kashiram & Company is sitting right on Plot 22 in the Cloth Market. We are on Krishna Mandir Road in Ratanada. If you know the market, you know it gets incredibly crowded on the weekends with all the shoppers. We have been trading here for years. We deal with all sorts of fabrics and textiles. There are stacks of cloth everywhere in our shop, reaching almost to the ceiling. It smells like fresh cotton and dye in here most of the time. We spend our days measuring out lengths of fabric and talking to the people who come in. We know a lot of the regular tailors and shopkeepers around here by name. Sometimes we sit on the floor to sort through the new shipments that come in from the trucks. It is a bit dusty and the fans are always running to keep us cool during the heat of the day. We don't have a website or anything like that to show off our stuff. We just do business face to face the old way. If the tea seller comes by, we take a break and have a cup together. It is a traditional way of working and it suits us just fine. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk about the news or the weather. Other days we don't even have time to sit down for a minute. Ratanada is a good place to be for this kind of trade. We just keep things moving along.
