India Steel

India Steel operates out of the Murgiwala Compound. If you know where the Celtech Petrol Pump is, we are directly opposite that. It’s a pretty industrial area. There is always a lot of dust and the sound of metal clanging against metal. We deal with heavy stuff. Trucks come in and out of the compound all day long. It gets a bit cramped when two big lorries try to pass each other near the gate. We have piles of steel sitting around. It’s not organized like a library but we know where everything is. The office is just a small room with a fan that squeaks. We spend most of our time outside anyway. The weather really affects us. When it rains, everything gets muddy and we have to cover the stock. When it's hot, the metal gets too warm to touch without thick gloves. It’s hard work and it’s dirty. We don't wear suits here. Just old clothes that can take a beating. The petrol pump across the way is handy for when we need to fuel up the small crane. We’ve been in this compound for years. The neighbors are mostly other workshops and warehouses. We all know each other. It’s just a basic steel yard doing what steel yards do. Nothing flashy about it, just moving the metal and getting it loaded for the next customer.
