Ghanwar Ram Kishore

Being in the Anaj Mandi means we are surrounded by the trade of grains and other goods. It is a very dusty and loud place to be, with trucks and tractors moving around from the early morning hours. Our shop at number 50 is just a plain room where we handle our business. We do not have any flashy signs or anything like that. The walls are thick to help with the Jodhpur heat, which can get very intense in the middle of the day. We spend a lot of our time dealing with bags and sacks of items. The floor is usually covered in a bit of grain dust no matter how much we sweep it. We have been here for many years and we know all the other traders in the Mandi. It is a very traditional way of working. We do not use any complicated systems, just our ledgers and our knowledge of the goods. People come here because they know we have been in this spot for a long time. It is hard work, especially when the weather is bad, but it is what we do. The Mandore area has its own pace and we just follow it.
