Our business, Dhokal Baa Travels And Enterprises, is a bit further out from the main city center. We are located at Kalirana Propertys in Village-Khokhariya. We are out in the Banar area, right on the Jaipur Road. Our office is actually opposite The Gate Way Of Jodhpur Hotel. Because we are out on the highway, things feel a bit different than they do in the middle of Jodhpur city. There is more open space, but it’s also very loud with the sound of trucks and buses roaring past on their way to Jaipur. We’ve been out here for a few years now. The office is a simple building we put up to manage our travel and enterprise work. It’s mostly a family thing, with my cousins and me taking turns to sit in the office. We don't have a fancy computer system; we just keep track of everything in our ledgers. Being the "gateway" to the city means we see a lot of people who are just arriving or just leaving. We try to be helpful to anyone who stops by, even if they just need directions. The sun can be really brutal out here in the open, so we have a small shaded area where people can wait. We aren't a big company with a marketing department. We are just local people trying to run a steady business on the side of the road. It’s a bit of a dusty life, but it’s what we know and we enjoy it. Most days we just sit and watch the traffic until a customer pulls in.
