American Fashion Trade

Our place, American Fashion Trade, is tucked away in Jodhpur, right near Jee Ri Haveli and the Gulab Sagar lake. It’s a really old part of the city, so the streets can be a bit narrow and confusing if you aren't from around here. We’re in the 342001 area, surrounded by the history of Rajasthan. Most days, you can see the water of the lake nearby, which is nice when it isn't too hot outside. We handle a lot of different fabrics and clothes. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of material and boxes waiting to be shipped out. We aren't a big modern warehouse; we’re more of a traditional setup in an old building. The sounds of the city, like the scooters and the people walking to the haveli, are always in the background. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching and making sure the colors are what they should be. It’s a lot of manual work, moving rolls of cloth and talking to local tailors. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know the trade. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s quiet and just watch the tourists and locals pass by toward Gulab Sagar. It’s a busy life, but being in this part of Jodhpur makes it feel a bit more connected to the local culture and the way things have been done for years.
