A- One Hair Dresser

A- One Hair Dresser is located near the Ramdev Ji Mandir on Pal Road in Jodhpur. This area around Barvi Chowraha is always moving with people visiting the temple or heading to the markets. Because Jodhpur can get very hot and sandy, we find ourselves cleaning the shop quite a bit just to keep the dust off the chairs. It is a traditional barber shop with a few worn-in chairs and a long shelf where we keep our tools and spray bottles. The mirrors have a few small chips around the edges from being moved over the years, but they still work fine for the customers. We have a big ceiling fan that stays on high speed all day long to help everyone stay cool while they get their hair cut. The floor is usually covered in hair by noon, and the smell of shaving soap hangs in the air most of the time. We know most of the men who come in here because they have been our neighbors for years. Sometimes we sit on a stool by the door during the slow hours and watch the traffic go by on Pal Road. It is not a place for anything fancy, just a place for a reliable haircut and maybe a bit of local gossip. We use simple tools that we have looked after for a long time. People come in, get their business done, and head back out into the sun.
