Jhansi Cantt is a quiet part of town, and we've been here on Cavarly Road for quite a while now. The school day usually starts early when the sun isn't too hot yet. You see the yellow buses pulling up and the kids running in with their bags. We spend a lot of time just keeping things moving. It isn't always easy, especially when it’s dusty outside or the power goes out, but we manage. The staff room is usually a bit messy with books and tea cups. We focus on the basics here. The kids come from all around the Cantt area and some from further out in Jhansi. Some days are loud with sports and other days are just quiet classrooms. We don't have fancy marble floors or anything like that. It’s just an old building with plenty of trees around it. Most of the teachers have been here for years, so we all know each other pretty well. We have to deal with the usual school stuff like broken desks or lost sweaters. It’s just a normal place where children learn their subjects and wait for the bell to ring at the end of the day. Sometimes parents drop by to talk about their kids' grades or just to say hello. We try to keep the garden somewhat green even when the water is low. It's just how things go here in Jhansi.
