Jeevan Marg Sophia Secondary School

Our school is right in Deoria Sadar. It has been a part of this town for many years, and you can usually hear our school bell ringing out across the neighborhood during the day. We are a secondary school, so we deal with kids from the middle years up until they are ready to finish their basic education. The building is a familiar sight for anyone living in this part of town. We have a small playground where the children spend their breaks, and it gets quite loud with all the shouting and running around. Most of the teachers have lived in Deoria for a long time and they know the parents of the students quite well. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, but we have enough desks and chalkboards to get the lessons done. The office is usually busy with parents coming in to pay fees or ask about their child's progress. We don't try to be anything we are not. We are just a local school trying to help the kids learn their math and science. The rooms are a bit old and maybe need a bit of paint here and there, but they are sturdy. When the school day ends, the street outside gets filled with kids in their uniforms heading home. It is just a regular cycle that we have been part of for a long time now. We just take it one day at a time and do our best with what we have.
