Moirya Building Material

We’ve got our shop, Moirya Building Material, at Shop No. 56 on Station Road. It’s right near the Kutuk Chauraha, which is a big crossing that stays busy from morning till night. You can hear the traffic and the people talking outside all day long. We sell all sorts of stuff for construction. It’s a simple shop with a lot of heavy items that we have to move around by hand most of the time. My back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We don't have a polished showroom or anything. Everything is just stacked where it fits. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles. People from all over the area come here because it’s a central spot near the chauraha. We don't use any fancy language to sell things. If someone needs a bag of plaster or some hardware, we just get it for them. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see one of us sitting out front having a tea when there’s a break in the customers. We don't have any big corporate goals or mission statements. We just want to sell our stock and make enough to keep the lights on and the shop running for another year. It’s just regular work for regular people in a busy part of town.
