The Grand Thakar

Dwarka is a place where people come from all over India to visit the temple. Our place is on Nageswar Road, right in the middle of the town. It gets very hot here in the summer, and the wind from the sea brings a lot of salt in the air. We have been running this place for a while, providing a spot for pilgrims to stay or eat while they are on their journey. The building is older, and you can see that in the corners and the hallways. We don't have elevators that work perfectly every time, but we make sure the rooms are ready when people arrive. The atmosphere in Dwarka is always religious and busy. You can hear the temple bells if the wind is blowing the right way. We have a lot of families who stay with us because we have larger rooms for them. The food we serve is simple Gujarati style, nothing too spicy or complicated. We get a lot of regulars who come back every year for their pilgrimage. It is a humble kind of life here. We don't have a big staff, just a few local people who help with the cleaning and the kitchen. We try to keep the water running and the lights on, which can be a task in this part of Gujarat sometimes. It is just a plain place for travelers to rest their feet.
