We are based at 29/2 Bazar Lane in the Uttarpara area of Hooghly. It is a very busy part of town because of the market nearby, so there is always a lot of noise and activity right outside our door. Our work involves a lot of logistics and food service management, which means we are usually up and running very early in the morning before the sun even comes up. The building we are in is older and has that typical look of the neighborhood with narrow stairs and high ceilings. We spend a lot of time managing the supplies and making sure the staff has everything they need for their shifts. It is a lot of physical work, moving boxes and checking inventory lists in the back room. The air is often filled with the smell of whatever is being cooked nearby or the fresh produce from the market stalls just down the lane. We don't have a lot of space for a fancy office, so we mostly work out of the main room where all the action happens. It can get a bit hectic when multiple deliveries arrive at once, but we just deal with it as it comes. We have been in Uttarpara for a while and we have a good relationship with the local vendors. It is a simple life here, focused on the daily tasks and making sure the kitchens are running like they should be.
