Indian Air Force

This is the spot for the Indian Air Force base out here in Jamnagar. Specifically, we’re talking about Air Force 1, and the address points to Q No. 80/4. Sgt BD Singh is one of the names you might hear around here. It’s a military station, so things run a bit differently than a normal office or shop. The whole place is spread out across the 361003 pin code area in Gujarat. Life on the station is pretty structured. We have our quarters and our duties, and everyone has a job to do to keep things moving. It isn't the kind of place you just wander into for a chat; it’s a working base with a lot of security. There is a lot of noise from the aircraft taking off and landing, which you get used to after a while. The sun in Jamnagar can be really intense, especially out on the tarmac during the summer months. We aren't here to sell anything or make a profit for ourselves. It’s just the service life. The buildings are standard government style, painted the same way and kept as neat as we can manage. We have our own small community inside the gates, with families living in the quarters and kids going to the local schools nearby. It’s a unique way of living, focused on the work at hand and the daily routines of the Air Force station.
