If you're on Dhoraji Road, just look across from the town police station. We’re right there in Krushna Nagar 1 at Vithal Sakhiya’s place. Kalavad Kishan Farmers Producer Company is a local group. Being near the police station means it’s a busy spot with plenty of people moving past. It’s not a quiet farm setting, but it works for us. Vithal stays on top of the day-to-day things. We have a lot of farmers coming in and out, checking on prices or asking about new ways to plant. We’re just regular folks who got tired of the old way of doing things. It’s hard to make a profit when you’re small, so we’re trying to act like a bigger group. The office is basic. We have a few desks and a lot of tea is served while we discuss our plans. Sometimes it’s loud with the traffic outside, but we don’t mind. We’re more focused on whether the crops are getting enough water or if the market is going up. We don't use fancy marketing because we wouldn't even know how to start with that. We just tell people the truth about what we’re doing. It’s a lot of trial and error. Some days we feel like we’re getting somewhere, and other days it’s just more hard work. But that’s farming for you. We’re just here in Kalavad, trying to make things a bit better.
