You can find us at Khoja Gate, right on the outside area near Nalvali Vav Road in Jamnagar. This part of Gujarat is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it with all the transport work we do. The office is right by the road, so there is always a bit of dust coming in from the trucks passing by. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to drivers and making sure the loads are where they should be. It is not glamorous work, and there is usually grease on someone’s hands or oil stains on the floor. We have some heavy wooden tables where we keep the logbooks, and those books are thick with years of records. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running full blast to stay cool while we work through the manifests. There is no air conditioning here, just the breeze coming through the open door. We know all the local routes like the back of our hands and we spend most of our time making sure nothing gets stuck in transit. It is a practical business and we do not spend money on things like fancy decorations or expensive signs. Most people find us because they have seen our trucks or heard about us from other traders in the market. We just show up every morning, drink our tea, and get to work moving things across the state.
