Working out of Phase-3 in the Industrial Estate at Gangyal keeps us pretty busy most weeks. Shivalik Steel & Wire Industries has been operating from this spot for a while. If you come down to the Dist. area, you’ll find us among the other sheds and factories. It’s a bit noisy around here because of all the machinery, but that’s just how an industrial estate is. We deal with steel and wires all day long. The floor is usually covered in some dust or metal bits, so we have to sweep quite often. It’s hard work, and our hands usually stay pretty dirty until the end of the shift. We have a small crew and everyone knows what their job is. There’s no big corporate office here, just a small space with a desk where we keep the logs. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the metal parts tough to handle, but we manage. We aren’t really into making big speeches about what we do. We just make sure the wire is right and the steel is moved where it needs to go. Gangyal is a practical place to be for this kind of industry. Shivalik Steel & Wire Industries is just a group of people doing their jobs day in and day out. We take our lunch breaks together when we can. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we don't think too much about it.
