Abrol Steel Rolling Mills

Our mill is down Lane No. 4 in Phase-II of the Sidco Industrial Complex in Bari Brahmana. It’s a big area and sometimes it feels like it takes forever just to get from the main gate to our spot. The work here is heavy and there is always a lot of smoke and heat around the furnace area. We start early before the sun gets too high because it stays cooler that way for the workers. We handle a lot of raw material that comes in on big trailers. Moving those around in the yard takes some skill so we don't block the lane for the neighbors. We’ve got a small office on the side, but most of us are usually out on the floor seeing to the machines. The noise is constant—clunking, whirring, and the sound of metal being shaped. We wear our boots and gear every day because it’s a rough environment. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend half the day with tools spread out on the floor trying to get it back up. That’s just part of the job. People come from all over the region to pick up their orders. We don't have time for much small talk, we just check the weights and get the trucks loaded so they can get back on the road. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here in Bari Brahmana. We just focus on the next batch.
