Annex Tutorial

Annex Tutorial is right in the middle of Moti Bazaar at number 226. If you know Srinagar, you know that Moti Bazaar is a place that never really stays quiet. There are always people moving, shops opening, and the general hum of the city right outside our windows. Our tutorial center is tucked into this environment, occupying a space that has been around for decades. We have several small rooms where the teaching happens. The furniture is a mix of things we’ve picked up over the years, so not everything matches, but it’s all sturdy enough. We spend a lot of our time managing the flow of students because the bazaar can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. Inside, though, we try to keep things as calm as possible. We don't have any polished brochures or a fancy lobby. There is just a wooden bench where people can wait and a small table where we keep the attendance books. We arrive early to beat the bazaar crowds and get the rooms aired out. It’s hard work keeping a place going in such a busy area, but we enjoy being right where the action is. Most of the families who send their children to us are also working in the bazaar, so we see them every day. It’s a very practical, down-to-earth way to run a business. We just take it one day at a time.
