Army Public School

Army Public School is located inside Binnaguri Cantt in Jalpaiguri. Being in the cantonment area, things are a bit different here than in the main town. It is usually very quiet and disciplined. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery, which is really nice when the weather is good in this part of West Bengal. The 735232 pincode area is quite specific to the base. Most of the children who come here are from families stationed at the base, so they move around a lot. We see students come and go as their parents get transferred to different parts of the country every few years. The school building is sturdy and has been around for some time. There are old trees all around the grounds that give some shade. In the rainy season, Jalpaiguri gets a lot of heavy rain, so the fields get a bit muddy, but the kids don't seem to mind much when they play. We spend our days following the schedule. It is a long walk from some of the housing quarters to the school gates, so we see kids walking in groups. The staff usually stays nearby too. It is a tight-knit community here in Binnaguri. You won't find much noise from traffic inside the Cantt, which makes it a good place for the classes. We just focus on the daily lessons and getting through the term. It feels like a small world of its own inside the gates. Life moves at a steady pace here and we like it.
