Khela Ghar Montessory School

Khela Ghar Montessory School is over in Pangasahebbari, which is in the Jalpaiguri district. The name actually means a house for playing, and that is pretty much how we handle things with the younger kids here. It’s a Montessori school, so we have a lot of toys and blocks scattered around the rooms for the children to use. The building isn’t very large, but it’s enough for the little ones who come here every morning. Jalpaiguri gets a lot of rain, so we often have to keep the kids inside the main hall where they can stay dry and still have space to move around. The teachers are very patient because working with toddlers and small children takes a lot of energy. We have colorful charts on the walls to help them learn their letters and numbers. It’s a quiet part of town, so you don’t get too much noise from the roads, which is good for the nap times. Most of the families in Pangasahebbari know us because we’ve been here for a while now. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just a small staff that looks after the kids and makes sure they are safe until their parents pick them up in the afternoon. It is a simple, honest place for early learning where the focus is just on letting the children grow at their own speed.
