Rockvale Academy

We've been up here at 9Th Mile on Rishi Road for a long time now. Kalimpong is a quiet place and we like it that way. Most people around here know where we are. It’s not a fancy building, just a place where kids come to learn and spend their day. We have teachers who have stayed with us for years. They know the families. Sometimes it gets a bit cold in the winters, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We just keep things running. There's usually some noise from the classrooms during the day. It’s just a normal school day, really. Parents drop their children off in the morning and pick them up later. We try to keep the grounds tidy, though the mountain weather makes it hard sometimes with the mud and rain. We don't have a huge staff, but everyone knows what they need to do. It’s a lot of work looking after so many students, but we are used to the routine. The school is just part of the neighborhood now. We don't do anything too flashy. We just focus on the books and making sure everyone is safe. You can see the hills from the windows. It’s a decent spot for a school. We just keep at it, day after day. It's nothing special, just a school doing its job in Kalimpong. We’ve seen many kids grow up here. Some come back to say hello after they’ve moved away. It’s nice to see them doing well for themselves.
