Arvind Pulses

Arvind Pulses is right across from Sajan Nagar on Chitawad Road. If you reach 159, you’ve found us. It is a big warehouse with a lot of sacks piled up. We handle all kinds of pulses. The work is mostly moving things from one place to another. We have a couple of guys who are really fast with the forklift. It’s a noisy place when the machines are running to clean the grains. We don't have a fancy lobby or chairs for visitors. Usually, people just come to the loading dock. The weather affects us a lot. If it's too humid, we have to be extra careful with the storage. We spend a lot of time checking the bags for any holes or leaks. It is a simple business, really. We buy, we sort, we sell. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, so the neighbors know us. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps during the break. The tea stall nearby does a good business because of us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do right by the people who buy from us. My hands are usually dry from handling the grain all day. It’s just how it is. We start at eight and go until the work is done. Some days are longer than others, especially when the harvest is coming in fast. That’s just life on Chitawad Road. We keep the lights on late sometimes.
