Living and working around Ramesh Colony means you get used to the noise from Nehru Garden Road. Vips Electricals Company is tucked away here at Plot No.992/2, and it is a busy little corner. Being so close to S.D College For Women, we see a lot of students walking by every single morning while we are setting things up. Our shop is packed with all sorts of electrical bits and pieces. Half the time, the counter is covered in tools or invoices that we still need to file away properly. It is not the kind of place that looks like a showroom. It is more of a workspace where things actually happen and items get moved around. We have some old fans that keep the air moving, though they make a bit of a racket when they are on high. The neighborhood is friendly, and we often find ourselves chatting with the folks from the nearby houses about the local news. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stack boxes in the middle of the floor until we can find a spot for them. It gets a bit cramped, especially when more than two people are trying to look at the same thing at once. We just keep at it, moving stuff around and helping the people who come in from the colony. It is a practical way of doing things, without any of that corporate talk you hear elsewhere. We are just here near the garden, doing our jobs every day.
