Surrindra Engineering Works

You will find us at Village Dhuankha Jagir which is right near the Jallandhar Road by the old Octroi Post. It is a bit of a drive out of the main city but we like the extra space we have here. Surrindra Engineering Works has a big open yard where we keep the larger metal structures we work on. Being near the road means we get a lot of dust from the passing trucks but we are used to it. The workshop is a bit chilly in the winter mornings so we start the day with hot tea before we pick up the heavy tools. We do a lot of welding and cutting and the floor is usually covered in sparks and metal shavings. We don't have a fancy lobby for visitors. Usually people just find us in the yard or near the big lathe. Our team has been together for a while and we know how each other works without having to say much. Sometimes we have to wait for parts to arrive from the city which can be a bit frustrating. But mostly we just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on the floor. It is a quiet village area until we turn the machines on and then it gets quite lively. We just focus on making things that last and getting the jobs finished before the sun goes down.
