Star Metal Industries

Star Metal Industries is located at S-17 in the Industrial Area, right across from the Post Office. Being near the post office is actually pretty handy for us because we still send out a fair amount of mail. Our unit is a standard industrial shed. It has high ceilings and a big rolling door that we keep open most of the day to let the air circulate. It gets pretty loud when the work is in full swing, so we don't talk much while the machines are going. We just use hand signals or wait until the break. The place is filled with the smell of cut metal and a bit of welding smoke. We have an old desk near the entrance where we keep the logbooks. It's covered in a layer of fine dust that never seems to go away. We don't really have a fancy reception area. If someone comes to visit, they usually just stand by the door until one of us notices them. The guys from the other units often stop by to chat or ask for a specific tool. It’s a good community in this industrial area. We just focus on getting the orders finished and making sure the metal is cut to the right size. It's hard work, but we have been doing it this way for a long time. There's always some noise.
