Sharma Children Hospital

Running a place like Sharma Children Hospital over at No. 722 Hargobind Nagar is a whole lot of work, but it’s our life. If you’ve ever been to Hargobind Nagar, you know the streets can get a bit tight. Our building isn't the biggest on the block, but it’s easy enough to find if you’re looking for the number 722. Usually, there’s a few bicycles parked outside and you can hear a bit of noise from the street coming in through the front. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the parents who bring their little ones in. It can get pretty loud, as you can imagine with kids around. Some are crying, some are playing with the few toys we keep in the corner, and others are just tired. We don’t have fancy art on the walls, just some old posters and maybe a smudge or two where a kid touched the wall with sticky fingers. The staff here is mostly local people. We know the families around Hargobind Nagar pretty well by now. We’ve seen kids grow up from their first check-up until they’re almost as tall as their dads. It’s just a regular place doing regular work. We don't try to look like those big city centers you see on TV. We just make sure there’s a chair for the mother and a bit of time for everyone. It stays busy from morning till we lock up.
