Ankur Kids Superspeciality Hospital

Ankur Kids Superspeciality Hospital is over in Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, not too far from Guru Ravidass Chowk. It’s a busy corner of the world. Since we deal with kids, there is almost always someone crying or running around in the halls. We tried putting some stickers of cartoon characters on the walls to make it look nicer, but some are peeling at the edges now and look a bit tired. The floors are that old-fashioned tile that stays cold even in the summer heat. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but people find us easily enough because everyone knows the landmark. Parking is a bit of a headache because the street is narrow and everyone just parks wherever they find a gap. Inside, there’s a small wooden desk where you sign in. The pens never seem to stay in one place, so we usually have them tied to the desk with a bit of string. We have a small area with some old toys and a few books for the children to play with while they wait for the doctor. Most of the parents look pretty tired when they get here. We get a lot of noise from the chowk, especially during the festivals when the speakers are out and the traffic is backed up. It’s not a quiet, fancy clinic. It’s a place where kids come when they have a fever or need their shots. We keep it as clean as we can, but with so many little ones coming through, it is a constant job.
