Working out of Guru Nanak Hospital in Dhahan Kaleran keeps things pretty steady for us. It’s located a bit away from the main rush of Jalandhar City, which some people seem to prefer. Ravi Kant Paul is usually around here making sure the daily tasks are handled properly. The hospital itself has been a part of this community for quite some time, so most people know the way without needing a map. We get a lot of folks coming in from the surrounding villages and smaller parts of Jalandhar. The mornings are usually the loudest part of the day when everyone is trying to get their paperwork sorted out at the desk. By the afternoon, things usually settle down a bit, and you can actually hear the birds outside. It’s a practical setup we have here. Nothing is really for show, we just have the rooms and the equipment needed for the day’s work. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet gets slow, which can be a bit of a headache, but we just deal with it like everyone else does in this area. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, with new shops opening up down the road, but the hospital stays pretty much the same. Most of us have been working here long enough that we know the routine by heart. It’s just about showing up, doing the job, and heading home once the last patient is gone.
