Pioneer Forgings

Pioneer Forgings is out in Chotta Saipur within the industrial area. Forging is tough work and our place shows it. It is a big, open shed where we have the hammers and furnaces. The heat is the first thing you notice when you walk in, especially in the summer. It gets very loud when the forging hammers are striking the hot metal. We are covered in soot and sweat by the end of the day. There is no point in wearing nice clothes here. We have a small yard outside where we keep the raw billets and the finished forgings. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel. We’ve been at this for a long time and our hands are calloused from the work. It’s a basic setup without any of the high-tech stuff you see in movies. We rely on the experience of the guys who have been swinging these tools for decades. The office is just a small cabin on the side of the main floor where the noise is slightly muffled. We handle all the paperwork there on a cluttered desk. It’s a dusty place and there is always a layer of grit on everything. We don't talk much while we are working because you can't hear anything over the machines anyway. It’s just hard, honest labor in the heat of the industrial zone.
