K C Public School

If you head down Karyam Road in SBS Nagar, you’ll find K C Public School on the KC Estate. It’s a decent-sized spot here in Nawanshahr. We’ve got a bit of space around the building, which is nice for when the weather is good and the kids want to be outside. The address is 144513, but most locals just know the turn-off from the main road. Inside, it’s mostly what you’d expect from a school that’s been around for a bit. There are rows of desks and plenty of boards for writing. We try to keep the place organized, though with hundreds of kids coming through every day, things get a bit messy by the afternoon. The hallway gets loud between periods, which is normal. We have teachers who have been with us for years. They don't just teach; they also keep an eye on the kids like they’re their own. We don't have any big corporate backers or anything like that. It’s just us running the place day to day. We spend a lot of time on the basics. Sometimes we have to fix a desk or repaint a door, and we just do it ourselves or find someone nearby to help. It’s a practical environment. People come here because they know we are steady and we’ve been part of the Nawanshahr landscape for a while now.
