Hindusta Steel

You can find Hindusta Steel on Jassal Road, right in the Motia Khan area. We are quite close to Preet Nagar. It’s a part of town where there’s a lot of metal work happening. We’ve been at this spot for many years now. The shop is mostly just a big warehouse where we store all the steel beams and rods. It gets cold in the winter and really hot in the summer because of the tin roof. We don’t mind it much. We spend most of our time outside anyway, loading trucks or checking the inventory. My father began this work back when there weren't so many houses around here. Now, Preet Nagar is right on top of us. We have a few guys who have worked here since they were young. They are good at moving the heavy stuff without making too much noise, though it’s never really quiet. We don't use computers much, just some notebooks to keep track of what goes out and what comes in. People know us as the place to go if you need some quick pieces of steel for a small gate or a house frame. We don't have any fancy signs or a big office. Just a desk and some chairs near the entrance. We try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It’s an honest day's work and we like being part of this neighborhood. We will likely be here for many more years to come. That is how we see things.
