If you walk down Mandi Samiti Road and go behind the Allahabad Bank, you will find us right there in the middle of Gur Mandi. It is a very busy part of town and there is always something going on. We deal with various goods coming in from the farms and other suppliers. The space is a bit cramped because we have bags stacked up almost to the ceiling most days. We do not have much room for a proper office so we mostly work standing up or sitting on a stool near the front entrance. The smell of the market is everywhere and you can hear the loaders shouting to each other all day long. Sometimes the rain makes the road a mess and it is hard to get the carts through, but we manage somehow. We have been at this location for quite some time now and the people around here are like family. It is not a quiet place to work at all. There is a lot of counting and checking the weight of things as they come off the trucks. We keep a record of everything in old notebooks because it is easier than using a computer in this heat and dust. Nothing here is very modern but the work gets done and the customers seem to know where to find us when they need something from the mandi. It is just a regular trading life.
