Galaxy Salon & Academy

Down in Johal Market, things are usually moving fast. Our place is on the first floor, right near Sanjha Chulla and across from Bittu Pardesi. It’s a landmark area in Jalandhar City, so it’s easy to tell people where to go. We do two things here: we run the salon for people who need a haircut or a shave, and we also have the academy part where we teach younger people the trade. It’s a bit of a mix. One side of the room might have a customer getting a trim, while the other side has students learning how to hold scissors correctly. It makes for a lively atmosphere, that's for sure. Jalandhar is a place where people appreciate a good skill, so we take the teaching part seriously. We aren't some fancy corporate school. We just show them how it’s done in the real world. The market noise comes up through the windows, and you can always smell food from the nearby stalls. It’s not a quiet, sterile place. It’s a working shop. We’ve been in Johal Market for a while now and have seen many students go off to start their own small shops. That feels good, seeing the craft continue. We just keep doing our bit, one day at a time, right here in the middle of the city's hustle. Sometimes the students are a bit nervous when they first start, but they get the hang of it soon enough. It’s a busy life.
