Parvez Khan Unisex Salon

Parvez Khan Unisex Salon is situated at 258L on Rainbow Road, which is a fairly active part of Model Town in Jalandhar. The street outside is always full of cars and people going about their business, so there is plenty to look at through the front window. Inside, the shop is set up with several stations for cutting hair and doing other basic grooming. We have large mirrors that line the walls and chairs that we try to keep clean, though hair always finds its way into the corners. The lighting is bright so we can see what we are doing, but it also makes the place feel a bit warm in the summer months. We have a routine of washing towels and hanging them up to dry in the back area. Sometimes the smell of shampoo and hair spray is quite strong, but it is just part of the environment here. People from all over Model Town come in, some for a quick trim and others for something that takes a bit longer. We usually have the radio playing some music in the background to drown out the noise from the road. It is a practical space where we spend most of our hours standing on our feet. We do not do anything too complicated, just the standard services that help people look a bit neater. The sink for washing hair sometimes has a slow drain, but we manage it.
